Airframe Structural Analyst- Associate
Description:The Airframe Structural Analysis Group is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage, landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic systems attachments. Structural integrity responsibilities cover composite and conventional structures and extend from conceptualization on through development, manufacturing and field service support. In fulfilling its function, adherence to the appropriate design criteria and other directives mandated by the customer and or regulatory agencies is strictly maintained.
Specific functions include: Static structural analysis and Margin of Safety determination, fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis of critical interfaces, determination of airframe component replacement and / or retirement times, specification and design of airframe related static and fatigue tests, field support and formal engineering documentation. Analytical processes include classical closed form solutions as well as finite element analysis.
Travel requirements are minimal (less than 10%).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college.
Ability to obtain security clearance required.
Undergrad focus in Mechanics of Materials, Machine Design, or Aerospace Structure Design/Analysis.
Co-op or Intern experience in related technical fields.
Demonstrated leadership in academics, employment or extracurricular activities.
Excel macro programming or scientific programming.
Working proficiency in MS Office Products.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Logical problem solving ability.
