Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer

Description:Selected candidate will be responsible for writing,
validating and maintaining organizational-level
maintenance technical publications for C-130J
aircraft. Publications are developed in Organizational
Maintenance Manual Set (OMMS) format and
maintained in the LM Aeronautics Automated
Technical Manual (ATM) System utilizing Standard
Generalized Markup Language (SGML). Successful
candidate will be required to learn the authoring
systems and adapt prior experience utilizing desktop
publishing tools and SGML to create new manuals or
update and publish revised or changed material.
Responsibilities will focus on operation and
maintenance of complex aircraft electrical and
avionics systems including automatic flight control,
communications/navigation/identification, radar,
surveillance, and electronic warfare systems. Reading
and interpreting engineering, supplier, and customer
documentation and effective interaction and
communication with customers, vendors,
engineering, and other organizations to define and
document aircraft maintenance requirements is a
daily requirement in this position. Entry level position.

Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering from an Aeronautical University; or mechanical, electrical engineering or technical related discipline.
Desired Skills:
General knowledge of aircraft systems and how to apply that knowledge to the development of maintenance manuals.

Experience with MS Office applications.

Aircraft maintenance experience in one or more of
the following fields: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic,
landing gear, propulsion, general aircraft servicing
and inspection, avionics.

Experience working with removal, installation and
inspection of aircraft components.

Desire at least one year of experience in Technical
Publications writing, validating and maintaining.
Organizational-level technical publications for on-equipment maintenance of aircraft.

Must be highly organized; process and detailed oriented; manuscript
authoring experience; experience in editing technical
and/or aircraft maintenance/operational information;
strong communication skills; computer literate; good
attention to detail.
