Aircraft Associate Technical Writer
Description:Working under direction of Lead Writer, prepare, update, and maintain maintenance manual procedures for electrical/avionics systems and equipment for advanced aircraft and mission systems. Also as directed, prepare, update, and maintain wiring diagram manuals. Using engineering drawings, system specifications and other source documentation, develop procedures, fault isolation trees, repairs, and figures to support maintenance and operation of equipment. Participate in validation of procedures. Contribute to development of time compliance technical order procedures.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Journalism, English, Communications or related disciplines.
Familiarity with Microsoft office applications Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Experience either performing mechanical maintenance/repair, or experience writing instructions/procedures.
Familiarity with Air Force technical manual processes.
Familiarity with aircraft systems.
Experience with Access or VisualBasic scripting.
Experience with SGML authoring tools.
Experience and talent for graphic illustration.
