Description: This position is for an Aeronautical Engineer on the US NAVY Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program.
This position is part of Reshaping FBM and will require relocation to Colorado in 2020. The starting location is Sunnyvale, CA.
Candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of analyses related to missile systems performance and functionality using various modeling and simulation methods. Analysis is focused on Range Safety, trajectory development, post flight analysis, and performance due to missile design changes.
Duties include writing or modifying software to support and perform specific analysis as required by the customer; maintenance and update of missile simulation software as required; and creating and maintaining software documentation (user's guides, model formulation, etc.)
Candidate will also be responsible for creating technical memos, providing input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, and presenting analysis results to internal engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel during technical exchange meetings.
Final SECRET Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Desired Skills: Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating system (O/S)
Programming language experience (FORTRAN, C, etc.)
Knowledge of missile trajectory performance and/or experience with Missile subsystems (NGC, propulsion, controls)
Understanding of trajectory modelling and analysis
FBM program experience
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, or other related engineering degree.
Programming experience with MATLAB.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
