Description:This occupation shall be responsible for performance of milling and machining operations in the JSF program. This occupation shall be responsible for the operation of a manufacturing system whose basic functions are precision milling and autodrilling

The operator shall be responsible for performing the tasks described below in addition to those tasks specified in the Machinist-General and Set-Up Person-Fabrication Standard Factory Job descriptions.
Must be able to perform complex tasks in a highly specialized environment that requires the awareness and understanding of the interface of multiple machine functions.

The system operator must take all training applicable to the operating system and pass an exit test assuring they have the necessary skills to successfully operate the system.Must have knowledge of machine operating systems such as Volumetric Correction System (VCS), Blum Laser Tool Verification, spindle head interchange, geometric translation, cutting tool tracking system, fire suppression system.

Work alone and or with other Team Members as needed setting up and operating various machining centers.

The system operator must take all training applicable to the operating system and pass an exit test assuring they have the necessary skills to successfully operate the system.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of CNC Milling experience with a minimum of 2 years' experience setting up and operating 5 axis Milling Machines.

Experience with manual data input (MDI) and G & M codes, graphics, preprogrammed control media, previously generated shop MDI data and make necessary machine adjustments to meet engineering tolerances.

Be able to perform precision boring and boring operations.

Experience with Cleaning, washing, deburring, loading and unloading parts and fixtures.

Experience with ability to rig and use overhead cranes. Possess skills to the use and maintenance of probes and very high speed cutters.

Experience reading and understanding complex blueprints including Geometrical Dimensional Tolerances.

Experience measuring finished parts for conformance to blueprint specifications. Possess skills to recognize improper functioning of machine or cutting actions of tools and take corrective action.
Desired Skills:
Use a PC to obtain part configuration and task information and transfer data to and from a PC and a machine controller.

Volumetric Correction System (VCS), Blum Laser Tool Verification, spindle head interchange, geometric translation, cutting tool tracking system.

Experience with Siemens 840D Machine Controllers. Experience setting up and machining Graphite Composite. Experience using PCD cutting tools. Some type of Cad/Cam programming experience.

Use of NC tool setter and balancers to setup cutting tools.
