Lob is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead our team’s efforts in attracting top talent to Lob.  You will grow, mentor, and lead a team of recruiters and recruiting managers, raising the bar on recruiting quality.  As we enter a high-growth stage, you will set the vision and strategy  for talent acquisition at Lob.  We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about building teams, using data to solve problems related to scale, and working to establish a culture of high engagement and performance, where individuals can do their best work.

The Director of Talent Acquisition will report to the VP of People.   You will play a key role in shaping people team strategies that help us realize our vision of creating a transformational work experience with meaningful professional growth, capable people managers, a sense of achievement, and where each person can nurture their authentic, best self.

As the Director of Talent Acquisition, you will:

  • Grow, mentor, and lead a team of recruiters and recruiting managers.  You’ll be responsible for establishing a culture of high engagement and high performance on your team.
  • Be a coach, thought partner and sounding board: “Coach, don’t tell.” You will help your team build problem-solving skills by practicing reflective listening, asking good questions, and giving timely, direct, and kind feedback.  You’ll serve as a model for people management to leaders across the organization.

  • Use data, prior experience, and recruiting knowledge to continually refine our talent acquisition practices and ensure we are curating delightful candidate experiences, diversifying Lob, and being equitable and inclusive. #beascientist
  • Collaborate with the People Leadership team to set strategies that help us realize our vision of creating a transformational work environment.
  • Set a vision strategy to help us achieve our aggressive growth goals for 2021 and beyond.  Rally stakeholders across the organization around that vision and strategy
  • Work with company leadership to set expectations and manage risks, dependencies and tradeoffs.
  • Recruit and engage great problem solvers and collaborators.  You’ll be responsible for building diverse, inclusive teams where everyone can be their authentic, best selves at work.
  • Define and execute on an employment branding strategy that positions Lob as an employer of choice, and drives passive candidates to engage with Lob.

For this role, we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of talent acquisition experience at world-class organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading teams.
  • Exceptional people management skills.  You can grow, mentor, and lead an engaged and high performing team.
  • Data-Driven Mindset. You use data to inform your point of view, drive strategy, inform decisions, and bring others along.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership.  You know that partnership leads to stronger outcomes, seek regular feedback from others to inform your strategies and points of view, and strive to make those around you better.
  • Kindness.  You treat others with kindness and respect, even when making difficult decisions or having difficult conversations.
  • Grit.  You have passion for your craft, you are resilient, and you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
