As a Middle Tier Java Developer, you will play a key role in the definition, design, and implementation of our products. You will be part of a small, passionate, and talented team working in a SaaS environment. Current projects include building mobile, social support, and social commerce solutions. You'll bring your passion for building intuitive user-interactions that consumers find both natural, and engaging as they participate. You’ll contribute to vibrant online communities as well, and solve large and technically complex problems.
You will be extremely proficient in the design and implementation of modern web applications and be at home on the core Java application tier, as well as the UI tier, and the connections between the two.
Working in an Agile environment, you will collaborate daily with product managers, peer software engineers, technical writers, and QA engineers.
- 4+ years’ commercial experience in Java Web application development or another Object Oriented Programming language (OOP), including proficient UI skills.
- Strong skills in Java development experience, preferably in large scale Web environments
- Experience in one or more MVC architectures (Spring, Struts, Express, JSF)
- Experience in one or more Client side MVC architectures (Angular, React, Ember)
- Ability to handle complex problems well
- Ability and willingness to try things and learn quickly
- Ability to clearly communicate complex problems to both engineers and non-engineers
- B.S. in Computer Science or other relevant technical field
HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
- A passion for Social Media
- Familiarity and experience with Agile (scrum) development process
- Tapestry 5 experience
- Experience creating consumer facing web applications
- Proven track record of identifying and championing new technologies that enhance the, software quality, developer productivity, and end-user experience
