About The Team

The Life360 Internal Audit is an independent function reporting to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Sr Director Financial Reporting. Our mission is to objectively evaluate and audit governance, compliance, risk management, and control processes.

The team handles strategic analysis, risk assessments, audit plan development, project management, quality review, report issuance, and issue validation across IT and business functions.

About the Job

Reporting to the Sr Internal Audit Manager, this position involves significant exposure to senior management. The Senior Internal Auditor will work closely with managers and partners from co-sourcing firms, providing joint internal audit support, and may direct and review the work of other audit personnel. Responsibilities include performing individual audit projects, developing audit scope, performing procedures, preparing reports, following up on audit recommendations, and assisting with periodic reporting to the audit committee and management.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop next-generation audit practices to maintain a best-in-class internal audit function.
  • Track and evaluate the adequacy and timeliness of management's response and corrective actions on internal audit findings, including validation of remediation activities.
  • Stay current and increase knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting the organization, internal control, risk management, compliance, accounting, business, and company products.
  • Support Life360’s internal audit plan through executing financial, operational, and compliance-related audits from beginning to end, including planning, stakeholder management, fieldwork execution, reporting, and validation of remediated audit findings.
  • Develop audit reports on the effectiveness of the internal control structure for an executive-level audience, ensuring findings are appropriately documented and supported by evidence.
  • Assist in preparing internal audit materials for Senior Management and the Audit Committee.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with business unit management across all levels.
  • Work with external audit and other co-sourcing firms to maximize external audit reliance on internal audit SOX testing where possible.
  • Serve as a value-add and advisory function to business partners by identifying ways to address audit findings or opportunities for enhancements, mitigating risk, and improving financial and operational performance without compromising 3rd Line of Defense independence and objectivity.
  • Manage and perform ad-hoc investigations/audits/reviews as required.
  • Communicate effectively with process owners, including non-finance individuals, on the importance of controls, an effective control environment, and the role of Internal Audit.
  • Promote new ideas and innovative means of executing projects and internal infrastructure enhancements focused on process or technology improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting/finance
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience conducting internal audits, including at least three (3) years in the Information Technology industry in internal/external audit preferred.
  • Public accounting experience and/or relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with high standards for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven, ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Google Suite or MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with an out-sourced or co-sourced internal audit function is a plus.
  • Understanding of the IT industry and experience in auditing information systems and controls.
  • Professional Internal Audit/IT Audit qualification (e.g., CISA, CIA) preferred.
  • Knowledge of audit methodologies and frameworks and related governance concepts, tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Chartered Accountant/CPA/CIA certification preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of data analysis techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles and financial statements.
  • Ability to communicate information in an understandable form to the right parts of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both within Internal Audit and across other departments.
  • Experience in enterprise risk management frameworks such as COSO ERM framework.
  • Ability to balance quality of work with speed of execution.
