The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Manages, investigates and resolves claims and assists in providing prompt and quality service to policyholders for mild to moderate severity and/or complexity claims.

This position will have in-office requirements twice a month. Ideal candidates will reside within a 50-mile radius of the location listed.
Training is a critical component to your success and that success starts with reliable attendance. Attendance and active engagement during training is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Manages, investigates, and resolves minor and moderate attorney represented bodily injury claims, including 1st Party Uninsured Motorist claims.
- Investigates and evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and settles bodily injury claims within prescribed authority levels. Claims may include coverage issues and/or disputed liability.
- Negotiates bodily injury settlements with attorneys, claimants, and/or co-defendants. Makes effective use of loss management techniques. Arranges for expert inspections involving third party or potential fraud actions as needed. Identifies potential suspicious claims and partners with SIU.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage daily responsibilities, including reprioritizing work as appropriate. Leverage available resources to make decisions.
- Manages litigated claims. Review of lawsuits, partnership with defense counsel on litigation strategies and action plans, including discovery and experts. Analyze new information to adjust strategy. May be required to attend trials and other court proceedings.
- Communicates with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants in order to gather information regarding claims, refers tasks to auxiliary resources as necessary, and advise as to proper course of action.
- Responds to various written and telephone inquiries. Demonstration of active listening communication skills to advise agents, insureds, and customers, and keep them updated.
- Ensures adequacy of reserves.
- Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required.
- Accountable for security of financial processing of claims, as well as security information contained in claims files. Identifies opportunities for third party subrogation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, but also with supervision on more complex assignments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses.
- Strong written and oral communications skills required.
- Good interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills required.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Demonstrated competency of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
- The capabilities, skills and knowledge required is normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 12-18 months of directly related experience.
- Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.
