About the Program

Embark on your career in a supportive environment where you and your peers will have the opportunity to learn about the industry, improve your business acumen, and become immersed in our great company culture. In this program, you'll work on highly collaborative, diverse teams to develop, test and maintain products at all stages of the development lifecycle. You will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology-based business solutions to improve our customer's experience, processes, and technology. Software projects may include, but are not limited to, developing front and back-end solutions, as well as designing and developing efficient, reliable, quality, lean and cost-effective customer facing mobile and web applications for our business clients. You will also work with emerging technologies: data mining/modeling/warehousing, business intelligence, responsive design, and mobile apps to create new business solutions all while being supported by a dedicated team of program managers that will help to guide you through the first year of your career at Liberty Mutual.

These diverse experiences, coupled with our strong technical training focused on object-oriented programming, continuous implementation/development, cloud technologies, and data analytics, give you an opportunity to hone your technology skills within our agile team environment. You will have the opportunity to work with technologies including Java, AngularJS, .NET, cloud, AWS, Bamboo, SQL, and more. Better yet, you will have the opportunity to build these skills while networking with groups of your peers and building relationships that will span your career.

Work Environment

In our Technology Department, our agile work environment is focused on collaboration and team work. Our teams work closely together in writing user stories, backlog grooming, and sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives to deliver quality products and drive results. The industry changes quickly, so we are looking for candidates who can respond to change, pick up new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements and different management approaches. Most importantly, you'll be engaged in stimulating and meaningful work and enjoy an environment that demonstrates a commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.

Locations: Portsmouth and Dover, NH

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Informatics, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related technical program
  • Basic knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies
  • General knowledge of design and development tools
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Working knowledge of at least one or more software development languages (preferably Java)
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication & organization skills
