Sales Support Specialist - DC Metro

Job Summary

The Sales Support Specialist will have primary responsibility for administrative and sales related tasks to support the metro DC sales team and showroom space. Activities will include following up with new and existing leads, distributing leads to the appropriate Sales team member, and for updating and tracking activity in Salesforce. The incumbent may also perform other tasks such as making outbound calls to target audiences and existing partners, and scheduling product demonstrations in the area showroom. Other duties may include preparing statistical or analytical reports, special projects, hosting customers in the area showroom, assisting with Sales operations for order management and providing a variety of administrative tasks for the DC Sales team.

Essential Functions

  • May be assigned to follow-up on leads from web activity, trade shows and regional events
  • Maintain accurate information in CRM (SalesForce)
  • Partner/communicate with Inside Sales Representatives, Sales Managers and Sales Operations
  • Provide excellent customer experience internally as well as externally, taking initiative to provide support as needed to ensure selling time is maximized
  • Be dependable and respond promptly to internal as well as external requests for assistance
  • Perform other sales related responsibilities as business necessitates

  • College degree preferred, or equivalent sales administrative experience may be substituted for a degree. Prefer a degree in business, marketing or related subject matter
  • Prefer some related experience in a customer-facing role
  • Must have significant attention to detail
  • Must be able to work customer in a fast-paced and dynamic field-based Sales organization
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work effectively and prioritize under time constraints
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience using a CRM and proficiency with Salesforce preferred
  • Experience working in a technology products company is a plus
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers over the phone as well as through written correspondence is required
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional colleagues to provide customers with unmatched service delivery is required
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, be responsible and a fast learner

  • May be required to work limited evening or weekend hours as business necessitates
  • Ability to lift and move boxes of files, up to 30 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver's license
