Job Description

Lending Club is looking to hire a Senior Manager to help lead a fast-paced Credit Operations team. Our mission in Credit is to make quick, accurate decisions on whether or not borrowers meet the credit requirements for a loan with Lending Club, and we are committed to providing exceptional customer service. We have a highly metrics-driven management approach, a strong data and testing mentality, and an eye toward using new technology to improve our processes. We are looking for an experienced leader who can meet demanding goals while maintaining a department culture of strong teamwork, high engagement, and constant individual development.

  • Lead a large part of the Credit Operations organization, managing up to 8 Supervisors, each with teams of 10-15 credit specialists, and eventually add two managers as the operation grows.
  • Drive teams toward exceeding operational goals, using metrics to ensure efficiency, quality, and customer experience in day-to-day operations.
  • Manage talent, recruiting, and budgeting. Partner with Finance, Recruiting, and Learning & Development to ensure department is staffed to meet service levels with our rapidly growing and changing business. Determine and monitor drivers to continuously adjust staffing models.
  • Partner with Business Operations and Product teams to develop new technology, data, and process solutions that result in big wins.
  • Develop a great management team. Actively seek to promote top performers within their teams to new skills, elevated positions, and other departments.
  • Create and implement reward and recognition programs to drive performance and foster a positive cultural environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading a staff of 50+ employees with multiple teams in an operations environment.
  • Experience defining, implementing, and using metrics to run a complex operation, such as real-time inventory charts, agent/supervisor performance scorecards, and loan status reports.
  • A people-first leader with noteworthy experiences creating positive culture, developing and promoting leaders, and building employee engagement.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment, because change is an expectation at Lending Club.
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a lending or customer verification environment preferred.
