The Secondary Business Analyst to the Director of Secondary Business Analysis and will be responsible for assisting with financial oversight and reconciliations of a sub-servicing vendor. The position also requires the assisting management in developing, documenting and maintaining practices and procedures for the team. This position addresses tight deadlines and a variety of accounting activities that may include data input and reconciliation, file and data reviews, wire processing, preparation of compliance reports and certifications, general ledger preparation, monthly close process, research and year-end preparation.

Essential Functions
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and accounting requirements related to loan servicing

Develop, document and implement process and procedures for various functions

Perform department responsibilities while operating within a strong system of internal controls regarding MSR sale transactions and monthly subservicer invoice reconciliations

Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and system features to enhance the efficiency and workflow of the department

Develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy with respect to assigned duties

Respond to inquiries from the Lending or Finance leaders and team members

Notify management of any trends or training opportunities

Complete special projects and workflow process improvements as assigned

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will view, have access to, and work with confidential financial data. The employee in this position must adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business discipline is preferred

Experience
One (1) to Three (3) to years in a financial role involving mortgage activity. Loan Servicing Finance (Investor Reporting, Accounting, Treasury, and Cash) preferred.

Agency Specific Investor Reporting experience highly preferred.

Prior experience developing and documenting Process and Procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Ability to learn new concepts and translate into effective process and procedures.

Ability to read and understand legal contracts, government regulations and compliance documents.

Advanced Excel skills are required.

SQL, MS Access skills preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds. Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Speech/Hearing: Frequently interact with management, vendors, coworkers, industry constituents, clients and the public.
