Principal QA Engineer (Laurel Road)

We simplify the process for both borrowers and bankers, while increasing choices of products, improving tracking, and offering a positive banking experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading teams of both inhouse and outsourced QAs and QEs.
- Architect for automation frameworks
- Create a strategy to continuously expand our coverage to match business needs
- Determine best practices for all quality teams.
- Represent the team in high level planning meetings and assist management in making key decisions.
- Advise management and business on anticipated system behavior in complex scenarios.
- Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Must have clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Lead teams to creative solutions to improve QA processes and tools.
- Maintain very high levels of product quality and regulatory compliance with comprehensive test plans and test cases, documentation, as well as following existing processes.
- Learn how Mortgage and other financial industries work, while learning new QA techniques, and continuously improving your technical skills.
- Contribute to system, integration, API, unit, regression, smoke, compatibility, positive, negative, white box, black box, functional, non-functional, stress, usability, acceptance, and end-to-end testing.
- Use test and case management, as well as bug tracking packages like Jira and PractiTest, to manage defects, test cases, test plans, and test suites.
- Execute tests and work with developers, PM, and BAs to close out defects.
- Use SQL clients to test databases. Use REST and SOAP clients, such as Postman and SoapUI, to test web services, using JSON, XML, headers, and WSDL.
- Write test cases in Java, using WebDriver, Selenium, HttpClient, and other libraries.
- Use maven and Jenkins for CI/CD.
- Proven knowledge of QA methodologies and Agile processes. Participate in various Agile meetings: Poker Planning, Iteration Planning, Daily Scrum, Iteration Review, and Retrospective.
- Work with outsourced technical personnel.
- Knowledge of Agile, SDLC, and QA processes.
- Experience with test and case management tools, such as Jira and PractiTest
- Experience using some API testing tools, such as Postman or SoapUI
- Experience using some CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins and maven.
