Director, Sales (U.S.)

L2 is experiencing significant year over year growth and is looking to bring on a Business Development Director, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, to build upon the momentum and help capture the large market opportunity that exists.  The role will focus on driving new business for enterprise and brand membership subscriptions in the US. This Business Development Director will work closely with the L2 business development, research and client strategy teams, to execute new member acquisition strategies.

This role will be based in New York and will require minimal travel.
 
Performance objectives
  • Define list of priority enterprises and brands to target in designated industry verticals
  • Implement lead generation campaigns to source appropriate executive-level client contact details and engage targets in a content-led dialogue that showcases L2’s value
  • Work with sales operations to respond rapidly and effectively to inbound sales leads
  • Implement an effective lead qualification process
  • Secure opportunities to present the benefits of L2 membership to influencers and decision-makers at target brands
  • Close new memberships and meet/exceed sales targets
  • Collaborate with Client Strategy teams to identify and close up-sell & cross-sell opportunities that will grow revenues from existing members
  • Ensure effective and transparent sales pipeline management through the use of Salesforce and other sales tools
  • Demonstrate mastery of L2 products, its research content and wider digital marketing topics in order to present L2’s value effectively to executive-level audiences
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of sales experience selling digital or consumer-led research and insights reports, digital consulting services or analytics tools to global consumer or prestige brands
  • Proven past success at identifying, engaging and closing new clients using a content-led sales approach
  • Strong knowledge and domain expertise in digital marketing, website optimisation, e-commerce, mobile, social media and Salesforce would be highly beneficial
  • Experience making consulting-oriented presentations to executive-level audiences across multiple industry sectors
  • Results-orientated, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
