Director, Research

Our flagship product, the Digital IQ Index®, is the global seminal benchmark for digital performance and evaluates the digital performance of over 1,800 brands across 14 industries globally. For each brand we examine more than 1,250 data points across four dimensions of digital: site and e-commerce, digital marketing, social media, and mobile.

L2 is growing incredibly quickly with strong VC partnership and we’re looking to bring on incredibly talented leaders from the Digital Research landscape. Above all, we're looking to hire genuinely passionate, curious, and entrepreneurial leaders who drive growth of our research capability, and within L2.

You will be an integral force in our evolving business as you strive for precision, consistent improvements, and extremely high-quality deliverables. You will have the ability to mentor and influence the research team in how they visualize opportunity, shape our research approach, and exceptional execution of our varied and differentiated reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Digital IQ Index® reports across a small set of industries (http://www.l2inc.com/research) 
  • Oversee collection and analysis of data while leading new analysis and adaptation of current methodology 
  • Distill analysis to a crisp and compelling narrative 
  • Convert raw data and narrative into concise writing with provocative storytelling skills
  • Present L2 thought leadership on the region to the public 
  • Manage production of multiple reports at any given time 
  • Identify key sector issues & drive research calendar priorities that map to commercial opportunities
  • Oversee a team of research leads and analysts 
  • Adapt and enhance the DIQ methodology to different industries and geographies 
  • Liaise with L2's Client Strategy team regarding client needs
  • Collaborate with Client Strategy on digital strategy “Deep Dives” for L2 clients across industries 

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in quantitative research 
  • Experience and expertise in Digital 
  • Ability to combine 3rd party and proprietary data/research into view on trends, best practices and impact on sector 
  • Team & people management experience 
  • A portfolio of proprietary, forward looking research 
  • Understanding of parent companies, brands, and the competitive landscape in at least one of the industries in the L2 portfolio: Auto, Beauty, Beverages, CPG, OTC, Consumer Electronics, Luxury, Retail, Hospitality, Travel 
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem in the US and European regions 
  • Desire to work for growth firm in fast paced, deadline driven environment
