Floater Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary:
Assist in staffing and leading the store Pharmacy team's execution of various tasks and projects per the company's objectives. Act as a strategic partner with other store departments and the Pharmacy Coordinator. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Model and coach the 3 A's of customer service (Acknowledge, Assist, Appreciate) and other customer service initiatives
  • Staff in store pharmacies to cover for vacations, open positions and other business needs
  • Provide customer service that makes both existing and new customers feel welcome, important and appreciate
  • Effectively handle and resolve customer concerns and issues
  • Read and disseminate company, division, and district business information as appropriate. Participate in weekly Take Away call as expected of all pharmacy associates
  • Demonstrate and coach behaviors that support 100% regulatory compliance
  • Actively engage customers about clinical services offered and participate in scheduling, documentation, and billing
  • Model and coach behaviors that are aligned with best practices
  • Process orders received/returned and track invoices from the Central Fill Pharmacy
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of thirty party billing procedures (including Medicare) and support in preparation for and execution of third party audits
  • Encourage, monitor, and assist new technicians in on the job training
  • Foster teamwork in consistent execution of Nashville Division Pharmacy Standards
  • Assist with special projects at the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Coordinator and Patient Care Coordinator
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Enter patient's information into computer accurately and efficiently.
  • Tender customer transactions in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Promote for sale to our customers any current charitable promotions.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification (or become certified within 6 months)
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must hold and maintain active state pharmacy technician registration
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize, plan and meet deadlines.
  • Must be professional and dependable
  • Ability to travel independently 75% of the time.
Desired Previous Job Experience:
  • 2 years as a PTCB nationally certified pharmacy technician
  • Previous experience in multiple stores
  • Previous supervisory experience


Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Desired
Required Certifications/Licenses: Pharmacy Board License
