Enterprise Sourcing Category Manager - Flexible Packaging

Position Summary:
Develop and execute strategies for $1B spend in one or more assigned highly complex, high spend/high impact, high visibility sourcing projects or ongoing management of spend category families. Oversee sourcing events in complex categories. Support development of cross-functional teams and manage on-going vendor relationships. Drive reporting and tracking for assigned spend categories. Accountable for driving profit enhancement and enabling differentiated product development. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop a business relationship with functional stakeholders and solicit feedback on sourcing/vendor performance, share/discuss supply base opportunities and identify new/changing needs
  • Set standards for conducting internal/external research on supply market and competitive activities within assigned spend categories/projects to ensure the highest levels of insight is generated
  • Execute category sourcing strategies including development and execution of Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals
  • Document bid events through correspondence to suppliers, develop selection criteria and drive the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Use procurement tools and systems to create operational efficiency and visibility across the enterprise; identify and pursue ad hoc opportunities to reduce product/service costs
  • Directly manage complex negotiations with suppliers that require a detailed strategic plan and have a direct correlation with the Retail Divisions operational needs and goals
  • Work with the Legal department to establish contracts and perform critical tactical activities
  • Act as liaison with business stakeholders
  • Analyze product costs, understand underlying cost drivers and implement cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings
  • Perform functions such as outsourcing, vendor selection and launch

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering/related field plus 5 years of procurement experience in relevant spend categories/industry sectors
  • 2 years of experience managing negotiations for spend categories >$100m million dollars and managing teams and/or leading cross-functional project teams
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the strategic sourcing/procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices
  • Proven ability to deliver across the end-to-end procurement value chain
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems, prioritize workloads and shift resources
  • 4 years of supply chain experience, responsibility for spend >$1B (pay level - 9)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration
  • CPM/CPSM certified
  • Experience working with Profit & Loss (P&L) concepts
  • Experience with toll processing, rebill programs or directed buy for suppliers
