Lead store management team and overall store operation including responsibility for sales, credit, customer service, retention, human resources, profit and loss, inventory, expense management and store presentation. Provide leadership of associate development, ensuring Kohl's best practices, communication, business analysis and expense management.   • Drive sales through brand recognition, pricing and omni-channel
  • Review business summary for merchandise opportunities and take action to drive sales
  • Shop competition, communicate and strategize opportunities to District Manager
  • Manage payroll, expenses and shortage to achieve Kohl's objectives
  • Manage merchandise and operational best practices

  • Drive associate engagement through effective communication, feedback and recognition
  • Manage hiring process to ensure staffing levels
  • Retain associates
  • Lead and facilitate annual review process
  • Delegate tasks to executives and other key leaders
  • Develop associates to promotable levels or larger areas of responsibility

  • Model and inspire Kohl's service standards
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with vendors and community partners
  • Inspire and promote volunteer participation
  • Accommodate customers, associates and applicants with disabilities
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and all other accessibility laws
  • Develop and lead executives in customer issue resolution

  • Participates in hiring process as needed
  • Oversees and partners with the management team in retaining quality associates
  • Completes and administers annual associate reviews
  • Communicates and manages hourly staff so that all ethical standards and all Kohl's policies are followed
  • Leads store meetings as directed and ensures action plans are achieved as needed
  • Drives positive reinforcement and motivation to all associates
  • Coaches and counsels associates when necessary based on Kohl's productivity goals
  • Completes and administers associate counseling documentation as necessary. Completes any needed associate counseling in accordance to Kohl's policies/HR guidelines
  • Assists in leading the training effort and ensures all needed training is delivered
  • Develops and coaches Area Supervisors to promotable levels or to assume larger areas of responsibility

  • Minimum 3-5 years store management experience in a high volume, big box environment

  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the departments within the store. Physical activities include bending, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis with or without an accommodation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis. Greater than 50 pounds = one associate per 50 pounds with or without an accommodation
  • Minimal travel to attend meetings
