Staff Program Manager

Responsible for managing Large Business Programs (related projects managed in a coordinated way to get benefits and control not available from managing them individually) from inception to implementation. Accountable for program schedules, budgets and scope and associated communications documentation. Analyzes, communicates and manages risks that threaten critical success factors. Communicates extensively with business partners to facilitate desired outcomes and clarify expectations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing large Business programs from inception to implementation

Responsible and sets the direction, for the daily activities of a large program team comprised of consultants and project managers

Oversees one program budget

Delivers programs that introduce new capabilities to the organization

Programs have organizational change impact and require Sr. Leadership engagement and alignment to ensure success

Develops, executes and monitors program plans and delivery strategy; revises plans based on ongoing assessments to deliver program goals and objectives

Accountable for the programs capital and expense budget(s)

Ensures the program team is properly staffed with required resources; anticipates resourcing needs/issues and proposes solutions and escalates appropriately

Identifies and communicates program level milestones and risks to Sr Leadership

Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects in the program

Provides expertise and advice in the process of program management and in the softer skills of team dynamics, team building and problem resolution

Establishes liaisons and networks with the external community to keep abreast of innovations and advancements in Technology

Leverages outside professional activities to broaden knowledge on developments in the field to improve project management practices and behaviors

Responsible for the delivery of excellence in quality and service levels

May audit projects to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to project management best practices

May own or participate in project management process improvement initiatives

May own or participate in the creation of project management training programs and/or support documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Has 7+ years of experience in project/program management experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent

PMP or PgMP Certification

Preferred:

Agile Coach/Certification

Bachelors degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field

Has expertise in multiple SDLC methodologies
