Sr. Product Development Manager

Leads and manages the Brand and Product strategy. Leader of cross-functional team. Owns execution of product strategy (production). Typically manages mega or multiple brands or categories. Leads businesses with larger scope, complexity, direct reports or volume.



  • Leads and manages short and long-term product strategies with cross-functional partners. Executes on corporate and product development initiatives
  • Manages vendor and L&F relationships in alignment with Strategic Sourcing strategy
  • Leads seasonal development and management of line plan
  • Clear accountability and ownership of product assortment recommendations to buyers that deliver against the Line plan and brand experience
  • Identifies white space opportunities utilizing fashion pyramid, trend curve and competitive analysis. Selects Productive Outs with design and/or buying
  • Develops the seasonal CTC calendar. Schedules and facilitates weekly cross functional meetings: owns agenda, presentation, follow up and re-cap for all milestone meetings. Partners with Design on room set-up direction
  • Serves as the customer and business expert for our brands/categories. Own testing strategies and parameters
  • Partners with Design Director, buyers and planners. Primary liaison with marketing, merchants and Merchandise Presentation on brand position, packaging and presentation
  • Leads and develops team

  • Owns execution of brand, product and sourcing strategy
  • Accountable for costing execution and manages complex costing negotiations
  • Confirms fabric and style placements aligned to brand and product strategy
  • Leads in resolving QA issues in partnership with technical design
  • Drives execution of fabric strategy
  • Owns style and brand unit projection planning/communication
  • Defines flex/contingency needs with cross functional partners
  • Delivers on department or divisional financial and speed objectives


  • 7+ years of retail, product development and/or merchandising
  • Extensive line building and merchandising experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Private Brand experience
  • Overseas business travel, sourcing and purchasing experience

  • Ability to travel
