Senior Workday Reporting Analyst - HR (Remote Eligible)

Menomonee Falls, WI

Builds reports and tools to improve process efficiency, measure program effectiveness and provide insights and predictive capabilities to the business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

DRIVE REPORTING INITIATIVES TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC OPERATIONS AND INFORM BUSINESS DECISIONS

  • Prioritize, plan, and lead reporting initiatives after assessing current state, identifying gaps, and seeking opportunities to improve the overall process.
  • Creation, delivery, and maintenance of reports, models, ad hoc requests, and dashboards for end users, ensuring data quality, accuracy, consistency, reliability, and completeness
  • Documentation of data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements
  • Understand the interconnectivity between modules and potential downstream reporting impacts of changes.

  • Design and build advanced reporting products, including BIRT reports and advanced dashboards within Workday
  • Assists in defining and implementing the reporting framework, metrics, data for publishing regular and periodic reports
  • Ownership of data cleaning, and establishing consistent process for using data and data definitions
  • Support data analyses projects through data gathering, data cleaning and reporting
  • Assists in the development of system reporting and dashboarding strategy
  • Ensure reporting functionality is maintained as part of system implementations, biannual releases and other business or business process changes
  • Works with key stakeholders to complete the build and deployment activities needed to support business intelligence reporting, insight, and analytics
  • Educate business partners and teammates to further develop capabilities and system understanding

  • SUPPORT A DATA ENVIRONMENT THAT PROVIDES GREATER INSIGHT INTO HR PEOPLE DATA
    • Recommend and implement policies on reporting standards and offer technical solutions to gain process efficiency and improve data integrity
    • Monitor reporting environment for performance issues
    • Focus on continuous improvement of team internal processes

    MENTOR AND TRAIN MORE JUNIOR TEAM MEMBERS
    • In partnership with manager, assist in onboarding new team members
    • Create training and documentation materials for new team members
    • Act as mentor for junior members of the team, assisting with the development of technical skills

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED
    • 4-5 years of Workday Reporting/ Report Writing experience
    • Strong understanding of Workday HCM and related business processes, with a focus on report development
    • Extensive hands-on experience reporting in the majority of modules being used within the Kohl's Workday system (Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, Recruiting and Learning).
    • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Extensive experience in System or Database report writing
    • Strong and demonstrated analytical background and mindset
    • Ability to manage business partner relationships with minimal manager involvement
    • Proven ability to provide guidance to business partners to creatively solve complex reporting/data problems.
    • Proven ability to communicate complex technical ideas and theories, in an informative and persuasive manner, to a non-technical audience

    PREFERRED
    • In depth knowledge of Workday HCM and Payroll business objects, plus working knowledge of additional modules (Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Talent Management, etc)
    • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Visier, etc)
    • Bachelor's degree in information systems, software engineering, business or related field
