Merchandise Specialist

Responsible for Buying Office activities which include style setup, purchase order creation and sample coordination. Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure day-to-day office tasks are completed. Works with vendors and cross functional teams to make sure items are placed on site and displayed correctly.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

PURCHASE ORDER CREATION AND MAINTENANCE

  • Work with K-Link Team to identify attribute due dates to facilitate vendor attribution in K-Link and on-time EDI of orders
  • Creates, maintains and submits PO's for processing (non KOO areas)
  • Edits domestic and import PO's prior to shipment of goods
SAMPLE MANAGEMENT
  • Manage Buying Office samples including tagging, organizing and purging
  • Manages samples for advertising, market, vendor meetings etc.
  • Ensures samples are submitted to item production team to make sure items are live on site
  • Leverages Sample Tracker Tool and manages OHNO (On Hand Not on Site) report and communicate effectively with office to locate and activate missing items on the website
  • Communicate and Follow Up with Vendor and Product Development about missing samples
BUY PLAN MAINTENANCE
  • Communicate with Vendors and Product Development about Buy plans
  • Work with buying team to validate accuracy and completeness of buy plans
  • Communicate with Direct Ship Vendors about DSN's
  • Work with buy team to submit buy plans to K-Link team 
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORIATION
  • Builds relationship with vendors and internal business partners to support buying teams
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
  • Possess a strong understanding of Vendor relationships with buying teams. Preferably both National Brands and Private and Exclusive Brands
  • Digital Item Turn In Experience (Item Turn In Forms and Vendor Supplied Images in Censhare)
  • Problem solving (Identify where there is an issue and suggest solutions)
  • Communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs
PREFERRED
  • Previous Buying Office experience at Kohl's (min. one year)
  • Ability to learn new technologies and train others 
  • Willingness to take on project based role
  • Change agent, influence peers to adopt new process/technology
