Manager, Affiliate Marketing

This position will drive sales b guiding and enhancing the Affiliate program at Kohl's. This position is expected to be the subject matter expert on Affiliates within the organization and drive performance of the program.



  • Identify and drive new opportunities with affiliates
  • Work directly with both Google Affiliate Network and top affiliates to expand the program
  • Develop and execute cross channel opportunities
  • Ensure that affiliate requirements are captured and met in future site development projects

  • Serve as primary contact for affiliate marketing opportunities for internal and external partners
  • Develop and maintain relationship with key affiliate partners through daily interactions, weekly status calls and quarterly reviews
  • Advanced level coordination and communication regarding ongoing offer and promotional placements between internal and external partners
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new affiliate opportunities to multiple levels of management across multiple functions
  • Work with the affiliates to develop new tactics and on-going changes to improve performance and impact to both online and in-store sales

  • Research, evaluate and analyze current marketplace trends and summarize findings and reports to leadership
  • Act as an affiliate advocate via reporting to maximize key internal partnerships
  • Maintain and communicate affiliate marketing performance reports
  • Work closely with the Marketing Intelligence and Search Marketing groups for proper attribution of program

  • Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Kohl's policies and practices
  • Prepares and analyze unit plans and reports
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area
  • Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications
  • Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans


  • BA/BS, Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science or related degree
  • 5+ years of affiliate experience for a high volume transaction environment
  • Expert knowledge of Affiliate execution technology (Impact Radius)
  • Working knowledge and usage of website traffic analytics software (Google Analytics, Omniture)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science and/or advanced Mathematics
  • Proven ability to accomplish high impact projects in a large organization
  • Experience working for a high impact search site (Google, Yahoo, MSN)
  • Ability to work with IT in the design and development of natural search
  • Ability to develop frameworks, processes and protocols
