ACCOUNTABILITIES
LEAD A TEAM OF TECHNICIANS ENSURING ALL MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT (MHE), BUILDING EQUIPMENT AND KEY SYSTEMS RUN EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY
- Daily participation in the inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment in the building and answering work requests in a timely manner ensuring product is flowing through the building
- Use computerized work order system to generate/document preventative maintenance (PM) completion, parts, projects, work requests, etc.
- Lead the team prioritizing calls and directing the team daily ensuring team is on task. Give the team feedback on strengths/opportunities on a daily/weekly basis
- Effectively collaborate with Senior Leaders and team associates to achieve a common goal
USE KNOWLEDGE TO TRAIN OTHER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS AND ENSURE COMPUTERIZED WORK ORDER SYSTEM IS BEING USED
- Meet with Manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
- Collaborate with department Managers and Supervisors to address mechanical/electrical and system opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
- Step in as Manager when needed
- Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports using the Infor work order system
QUALITY MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF FACILITY
- Perform minor electrical/plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
- Maintain lighting throughout the facility
- Work on powered equipment doing p.m.'s and repairs
- Work with contractors
- Maintain proper level of inventories and follow up on shop cleanliness with the team
- Comply with all EPA, MSDS standards, lock-out/tag procedures and use appropriate PPE. Monitor team to ensure they are following prescribed safety procedures
LEAD HIGH PERFORMING TEAMS TO ENSURE EQUIPMENT SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE
- Leads direct reports to achieve unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices
- Increase associate engagement by developing and communicating a clear vision
- Maintaining open communication by setting clear objectives and removing barriers
- Develop an effective staff through coaching and performance feedback
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Prior experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
- Thorough knowledge of conveyor systems
- Computer software skills, office, excel, and ability to learn work order system and MHE/building controls systems
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
- Ability to ensure and maintain confidentiality
- Strong and problem solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's Degree (or advanced degree)
- PLC programming and motor controls
- Electrical print reading
- Mechanical print reading
- Welding
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical activity may include time standing/walking up to 12 hours with scheduled breaks
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis and 100 pounds on occasion with assistance
