BUSINESS IMPACT STATEMENT The Operations Director manages all things Operations and Facilities. They lead a team comprised of 1 Manager/Operations, 2 Managers/Field Facilities and 20-26 Field Facilities Specialists.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

BEST PRACTICE EXECUTION

•         Utilize Operational reporting, store observations and metrics to determine outlier stores

•         Root cause analysis and guide action planning with DMs and OM to address and decrease outlier stores

•         Increase the number of Operational Summary Report goal metrics achieved

 

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT / BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS

•         Natural Disaster support/leadership

•         Communication of new operational initiatives to DMs and TMs

•         Partner with DMs and TMs on store selection for rollout and tests

•         Consistent feedback to Directors, VPs, and SVP of SOE on best practices, budgeting, execution and staffing customer feedback

•         Partnership with logistics leaders on truck scheduling, truck load quality and backhauls

•         Drive Omni peak results by preparing territory, planning, outlier management and communication

BUDGET, CAPITAL INVESTMENT AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT

•         Allocate and manage $20K-$50K monthly repair budgets by store

•         Ensure the maintenance of Kohl's property & stores within budgetary guidelines & resources

•         Participate in monthly facilities forecast meetings and prioritize reinvestment expenses across all departments

•         Manage relationships with all vendor service trades within a territory to drive most value for Kohl's

•         Enforce contract compliance to ensure Kohl's standards are met, partner with vendor leadership on regular basis for all trades including Housekeeping/Clean

•         Provide timely and consistent feedback to SOE Mgt board on Housekeeping Clean vendor performance

•         Provide field rankings of the capital and repair needs of stores by territory based on useful life of assets

•         Allocate seasonal operational equipment budget by store based on surveys and need

•         Provide feedback to SOE Mgt board on useful life modeling and future capital investment needs

CAPITAL PROJECT EXECUTION

•          Problem solving and follow up for DMs/TMs on capital projects in store

•          Provide feedback to SOE on phasing plans, potential business disruptions

•          Hold team accountable to walk completed projects, record uncompleted work and provide feedback to corporate owners

OFF SITE MANAGEMENT

•          Own management, maintenance and renewal of 10-15 off site warehouse leases

•          Approve and allocate budget by district/store for seasonal storage trailers

 

TECHNOLOGY TROUBLESHOOTING

•          Provide expertise to DMs as necessary on technology issues

•          Escalate critical technology issues to SOE and KT leadership in timely manner

•          Assist in device allocation by volume and type of store

 

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

•         Strong Communication Skills, Verbal, Written and Public Speaking - ability to communicate effectively with various levels of executives

•         Proven leader who is results oriented, able to analyze data to understand issues and implement solutions.   Capable of breaking down complex processes so others can understand and implement.

•         Experience leading in a high performing team .   Strong ability to assess talent and develop teams

•         Experience in managing multiple projects efficiently

•         Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

PREFERRED

•         Bachelor's Degree in related discipline

•         8-10 years progressive retail experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

•         Significant Travel Required
