Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Human Resources Generalist to join Knot Standard. The Human Resources Generalist will work directly with the Head of People and will be the primary point of contact for employees during onboarding, and over the course of their employee experience. The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources department including recruiting and hiring, administering pay and benefits, introducing and reinforcing company policies and practices, all while acting as a company culture ambassador through word and deed. This role will report directly into the Head of People.

To date, we operate 5 appointment-only showrooms in New York, Chicago, D.C., Austin, and Dallas. THE OPPORTUNITY
You will make an impact by:
- Transitioning new hires into our onboarding process, including system setup, completion of HR onboarding paperwork, email setup, and team communications
- Administering all employee changes and movement in HRIS
- Acting as an initial point-of-contact for employee inquiries and concerns, in the pursuit of both clarity and resolution
- Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate delegates – including any/all employee relations conversations
- Managing all incoming and outgoing communication and inquiries in HR inbox and calendar
- Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for various vacancies; collaborating with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Assisting in the building and maintenance of the performance review planning process (annual and mid-year reviews)
- Curating and initiating team building events & culture related event planning as culture and diversity & inclusion ambassador
- Maintaining office supplies, snacks, and office organization
- Assisting the leadership team, as needed, on miscellaneous business administration tasks
- Owning HR reporting and analytics to review and assess the business based on objective
- Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, etc.
- Acting as owner of LMS platform for reasons of onboarding and employee training
- Implementing and consistently making improvements to new hire onboarding, orientation, and training content and experience
- Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource functions including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; team health and safety; and training and development.
- Administering and participating in progressive discipline process, terminations, and investigations, in partnership with Head of People
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintaining knowledge of industry and functional trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performing other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience preferred
- World-class communication, time management, and customer service skills
- Familiarity with and passion for the retail or apparel industry (specifically menswear, preferred)
- A positive, can-do and joyful attitude with the ability to handle a high volume of clients and multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment
- Ability to navigate through tricky or demanding situations with a high-level of expertise, poise and confidence
- Ability to consistently act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality – as a safe space and source of calm for all team members at any given time
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Strong Independent decision-making, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to self-manage and initiate with minimum daily oversight – tendency to thrive in a more autonomous environment
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
- SHRM or HRCI certified preferred
