Working under general supervision, the Graphic Designer, Packaging will be responsible for developing effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative across the core brand and innovation team. This designer will be working closely with the Creative Manager and various Brand Managers to create new product packaging, print, digital and experiential assets for brand campaigns. Employees in this position may interact with their leader several times a week to receive guidance and feedback. Most non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design - 60%
Responsible for developing packaging designs across the Innovation and Brand teams:
Develops preliminary test packaging for new products.
Creates mockups to support Innovation and Brand teams product testing.
Takes packaging designs from initial concept through production.
Will manage all packaging design updates to existing products for the core brand.
Supporting in asset development for 360 Brand campaigns:
Design visual and digital creative for Innovation product launches.
Design on brand in-store POS assets for the sales and omni teams.
Support in photoshoot production and planning.
Assist in developing creative for internal communications to support cross-functional teams.
Cross functional Collaboration - 30%
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Packaging Development, Product Development, & Marketing) to ensure designs are meeting brand guidelines and project objectives. Review production samples from existing print vendors. Evaluate creative from partner agencies to ensure all designs align with brand standards.
Creative File Management - 10%
Manage art files and packaging mechanicals for core products and cases. Sync creative assets to digital assets management system.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or visual communication design.
- 5+ years of professional design and packaging development experience.
- Strong portfolio of design work, showing solutions to business problems through effective design and examples of product packaging design.
- 1-3 years of experience in CPG is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in the food industry a plus.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, Acrobat, Keynote, Microsoft PPT, Word and Asana (required).
- Proficient design skills, specifically packaging design, and an excellent understanding of visual and communication design principles.
- Must have a proficient understanding of print and postproduction processes.
- Experience working with packaging engineers for implementation of designs and transfer of visual assets.
- Working knowledge of Illustration is preferred.
- Working knowledge of rendering software is a plus (Esko or similar).
- Proficient ability to design assets to support brand marketing, website design, corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia design.
- Expert ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Ability to clearly present design ideas and concepts for campaigns and projects.
- Proficient in designing assets for social media and other digital social platforms.
- Must be creative, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible.
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate King's values of excellence, dignity, saying it like it is in a way it can be heard; and curiosity, collaboration, critical thinking and emotional intelligence.
Compensation Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000
