New Product Development Manager

What you’ll do

Project Management

  • Develop and manage project timelines for new product & new packaging projects, anticipating project risks and roadblocks, and defining critical paths in collaboration with the food scientist, product developer and cross functional team.
  • 80% of this role will focus on project management for the NPD department
  • Follow KIND’s development process from concept to launch. Develop and manage project budgets and apply project management best practices for resource management. Prioritize workload based on portfolio management tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Business Development:

  • Competitive landscape research for new products (store visits & online)
  • Consumer research (observation, interview, interpretation)
  • Monitor international trends and pull insights into product lines.
  • Supplier screening.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Responsible for creation of finished product specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

Your Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in managing projects
  • Ability to build strong trusted working relationships and rapport at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty, manage conflict and drive resolution.
  • Strong organization skills & attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • Strong project management experience & proven track record; change management projects experience a plus.
  • Able to travel up to 20% – 35% of the time.
  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, experience with Stage gate methodology a plus.
