Position Summary

The MES Specialist / Engineering Technician functions at the highest level of Hourly Technical knowledge, modeling/ dimensioning, troubleshooting complex issues, and leading installations of projects. This role supports engineering design, troubleshooting, documentation, project management and technical training to Equipment Reliability, Operations and engineering in support of the Maumelle facility. The Engineering Technician takes concepts from Engineers, Platform Techs, Asset Techs, Shift Techs and Process Leaders to transform concepts into tangible solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, repair, and support of raw material scanning equipment
  • Installation, repair, and support of building security cameras. Work with vendor as needed to fix issues and install new equipment
  • Coordinate repairs, new reader installations, and maintenance of building access control system with vendors. Installation, repair, and support of TV displays in warehouse and manufacturing area
  • Work with vendor as needed to fix and install equipment
  • Installation, and troubleshooting of Software applications on workstations relating to manufacturing
  • Installation, repair, and troubleshooting of high-speed label printers (Zebra, Honeywell, Intermec, etc.)
  • Maintenance and support for manufacturing applications used in production (GE Plant Applications, FactoryTalk Asset Centre, Rockwell applications, etc.)
  • Maintenance, support and troubleshooting for virtual servers and thin clients used in manufacturing
  • Maintenance, and administration for security groups and policies for manufacturing applications Installation, support, and maintenance of manufacturing networking equipment
  • Work with support teams to repair, replace, and identify issues as needed
  • Project start-up support
  • Technical engineering support for Operations, Logistics, Equipment Reliability and Engineering
  • Trial Support
  • Support first time runs as required
  • Supports Operations and Equipment Reliability after hours via phone
  • Attend factory acceptance testing for new equipment as required
  • Enter work notifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree in a related technical field
  • Knowledge of OPC communications
  • Basic knowledge of ladder logic software (Control Logic's and PLC 5)
  • Knowledge of high-speed label printers and how to fix issues
  • Knowledge of virtualization technology Troubleshooting and solving basic computer issues, familiar with Windows XP/7/10, Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server, SQL Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019, Cisco Networking, LAN networks, Wireless networks, Firewalls, Microsoft Office products, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, smartphones, and tablet (IOS, Android).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Legal right to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work on elevated work platforms, catwalks, scaffolding, etc.
  • Role model all safety requirements including electrical Safe Work Practices, Hazard Recognition, and PPE
  • Must be able to wear required PPE while performing tasks
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds twice each hour
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and ramps
  • Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, and crouching movements
  • Must meet acceptable attendance criteria (< 4 occurrences and < 50 hours) at the close date of the posting, as aligned with the current Maumelle Attendance Policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with high-speed manufacturing and converting equipment
  • Experience working in a FDA regulated facility
  • Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Robotics
