Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, develop, optimize, and problem solve manufacturing and converting processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations. In this important entry level position on the Conventional Technology (CTEC) Converting Asset team, you'll support daily asset performance, improve reliability and execute capital projects to improve the Safety, Quality, OEE, & Cost of the Multi-folder & Multipack tissue converting department. You'll report to the CTEC Engineering Manager and receive direction in the form of general project objectives.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Support daily tissue converting line asset performance to achieve Safety, Quality, OEE, & Cost objectives.
  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of CTEC tissue converting equipment to meet unit objectives.
  • Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $1 million from conception through commercialization.
  • Identify and problem solve technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause, including leading group Problem Solving sessions.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, problem solving, and project management.
  • Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 1+ years Mechanical engineering experience in technical and/or operational assignments in a manufacturing environment/asset engineering role).
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while providing task- oriented direction to others to complete projects within required timeframes.
  • Successful experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Excel and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific technical knowledge and expertise in tissue converting. Experience working with external technical service providers.
  • Evidence of continuing self-development. Familiarity with machine installations and startups.
