Wireless Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is working with a global investment firm located in New York, NY and they are searching for a Wireless Manager with at least 4+ years of wireless experience. This firm was recently named the Fast Company Magazine's list of the 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World. Summary: We are seeking an individual to manage, maintain, troubleshoot and optimize the campus wide Cisco wireless enterprise infrastructure supporting mission critical building systems and amenities on the converged network. This is a highly technical, hands-on position which will require advanced experience with Cisco networks. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations, this role will interact with internal and external teams responsible for the integration of disparate hardware and software systems and will serve as a leadership role for junior level network engineers. Key Tasks:

  • Management, support and maintenance of the campus wide Cisco enterprise wireless network
  • Ensuring the continued operation of existing wireless infrastructure to support a variety of systems and services such as Data, Voice, Video and various building systems
  • IOS Upgrades and configuration changes for all wireless network devices
  • Optimizing and Tuning of wireless infrastructure in a multi-building campus environment with 1500 internal and external access points
  • Performing RF surveys and resolve signal and access issues
  • Asset Monitoring and Management
Analyzing, optimizing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks:
  • Predictive Wireless and Validation surveys
  • Identifying trends and recommending strategies to enhance Wi-Fi coverage and signal strength
  • Identifying and resolving interference sources
  • Policy enforcement
  • Wireless Intrusion Prevention
  • Lifecycle replacement
  • Vulnerability remediation


REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator
  • CCNP or CCIE
  • 10+ years of experience working in a Cisco environment and with advanced wireless technologies and platform
  • Strong in-depth working knowledge of RF and Wireless technologies (Cisco 802.11a, b, g & n, 11ax, Cisco Prime, WLC)
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Wireless networking 802.11a, b, g & n, 11ax, Cisco Prime, WLCs
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of WiFi 6
  • Experience with Wi-Fi spectrum analyzer - Ekahau
Experience with:
  • Cisco and Meraki technologies
  • LAN/WAN protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
  • Switching technologies (VPC, VRF, VLAN Tagging, Spanning Tree)
  • Security, management and device integrations
General working knowledge and experience of:
  • Switching and routing technologies (particularly Cisco), including 9k, 7k and 5k network fabrics
  • LAN/WAN Protocols and technologies (EIGRP, HSRP, VRF, VPC, etc.)
  • Layer 1 infrastructure (fiber, copper, RF)
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure, best practices and principles
  • Best practices for firewalls, firewall configs, ACLs, network security etc.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with team members and business stakeholders across diverse roles and experience levels
  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Strong in-depth working knowledge of system and wireless network design and architecture
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
