Responsibilities

Kforce has a client, an established software-based company with substantial growth is seeking and energetic Software Development Manager to lead automation initiatives using a distributed container architecture, while also modernizing our legacy code, and increasing our overall technical quality. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. Summary:You will solve complex problems utilizing modern cloud software technologies, modern design principles and patterns, and be a champion of quality. This is a hands-on leadership role is responsible for architecture, design, and leading a team of software engineers using Microsoft .Net Core and Kubernetes to solve our complex business problems. You will use Azure DevOps for task management, and for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines as well as VMWare Tanzu and Microsoft Azure to deploy and manage cloud workloads in our hybrid infrastructure.   • Directly manage and lead a team of software engineers
  • Ensure the team is successfully executing their day to day tasks, checking code architecture and quality by performing peer views via pull requests
  • Cradle to Grave ownership from task intake from the Product Owner to owning automated Production deployments and Production support
  • Derive lower level tasks from Epics or Features so that the scrum team can deliver on the business roadmap
  • Create your own Service Owner roadmap, in conjunction with the Product Owner roadmap and delivery, for modernization strategy, technical standards, and quality initiatives that the scrum team delivers
  • You will migrate technical resources into Kubernetes, raise the bar for our test automation coverage, reduce code complexity, increase CI/CD automation, and improve upon on our quality metrics.
  • Manage 4 to 8 direct reports


Skills

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience/certification
10-15+ years professional software development including expertise in:
  • Application development language such as C#, .NET Core
  • Web technologies, frameworks like ASP.NET, ASP.NET Cor, REST API, and Angular
  • Database development, query optimization and handling large datasets in a technology like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and No SQL technologies
  • Experience migrating to Cloud-like technology preferably Azure
  • 3+ years' experience in architecting modern code solutions, and migrating into containers (such as Docker or Kubernetes)
  • 2-4+ years leading engineering teams, including delegating, managing and prioritization of work
  • Must be a high energy individual
  • Passion for Quality and Best Practices
  • The ability to work cross group to negotiate and resolve conflicting situations and priorities
