Sr. Electronic Solder Assemblers

Kforce has a client that is seeking a couple of Sr. Electronic Solder Assemblers in Mesa, AZ. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to an office environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Responsibilities:

  • Performs through-hole assembly and related fine pitch hand-soldering on complex multi-layer printed circuit board including crimping, staking, screwing, soldering, cementing, press fitting, or performing similar operations to join or secure parts in place per IPC-JSTD-001
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on multilayer chassis panel
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of various equipment including soldering irons, hot air pencils, preheaters, calipers, microscopes, prepping machines, AOI machines, fixtures, torque drivers, ionograph, aqueous cleaning machines, convention reflow ovens, batch ovens, EFD dispensers, X-Ray Machine and BGA rework stations
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets
  • Performs rework/repair per the IPC 7711/7721
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device
  • Familiar with Moisture Sensitive Devices
  • Performs hand-placement of components such as 0201's and 0105's
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Performs on-line go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Technical school preferred; 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with MIL-Spec 2000 soldering preferred
  • Use of hand tools, knowledge of SMT and through-hole assembly required
  • Skilled in manual soldering of leads, connectors and magnetic devices to multilayer printed wiring boards required
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Have the ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions
