Software Configuration Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in search of a Software Configuration Manager in Sterling, VA. Key Tasks:

  • Developing and maintaining SCM plans, procedures and estimates
  • Developing and documenting the software development and control processes to be contained in the Software Development Plan (SDP)
  • Reviewing and approving the SDP
  • Providing SCM guidance and assistance to project teams
  • Supporting software design reviews - PDR, CDR, TRR
  • Participating in software team status meetings
  • Implementing SCM practices on all product teams
  • Administering and improving the automated configuration management tools
  • Administering and improving the automated problem tracking tools
  • Reproducing and verifying SW build processes
  • Generating the Software Media Description and coordinating the release with CDM
  • Conducting software and documentation configuration audits
  • Developing monthly metrics
  • Participating in internal/external SCM audits
  • Playing a key role in the organizational migration to Atlassian SCM/ALM tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.)


REQUIREMENTS:
  • 15+ years with Bachelor's in Engineering or closely related discipline; Or 13+ years with Master's in Engineering or closely related discipline; 11+ years with PhD in Engineering or close related discipline
  • Possesses an industry certification in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework
  • Strong experience supporting Agile programs including Agile DevOps
  • The candidate must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience supporting complex projects using the Atlassian suite of SDLC tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Experience guiding a large organization through adoption of Agile processes including Scrum
  • Experience with Agile Earned Value Management System planning and reporting
  • Experience in design, development, implementation, or operation of Spacecraft Ground Software systems
  • SW development background including experience with Java or Python
