SMT Manufacturing Manager

Kforce has a client, a growing company in the Phoenix, AZ area is seeking a SMT Manufacturing Supervisor. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Will participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as required; The workflow, set and achieve daily goals and ensure employees understand the expectations
  • Ensure OTD (promise and desire) dates are continually achieved and continually improved to include delivered superior quality
  • Ensure various manufacturing equipment (e.g. SMT, test equipment, etc. are routinely being maintained)
  • Will be responsible, but not limited for the daily execution of SMT production plan attainment, provide clear direction to the direct reports, allocate resources and escalate to management as needed
  • Train and develop a flexible and capable workforce; Collaborate with other supervisors and or leadership functional group members to achieve cross train capabilities across the manufacturing operations
  • Conduct robust performance appraisals of direct reports to include ensure an accountability results oriented work environment
  • Drive continual improvement activities, initiatives relative to KPI's (e.g. AOI, WAVE, yields, productivity, OEE, etc.)
  • Ensure root cause and corrective actions are robustly and timely being completed via 3-ups and CAR process
  • Support inventory management activities including cycle counts, ad-hoc counts, and annual physical inventory; Escalate inventory discrepancy for investigation and resolution
  • Assist in the preparing and reviewing of production documents, such as standard operating procedure, work instructions, templates and checklist
  • Practice Lean Manufacturing principles and guidelines
  • Support and promote continues process improvement initiatives
  • Lead 5S initiatives and other good manufacturing practices


  • BS Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering degree or similar degree preferred
  • 4-7+ years of experience, in SMT technical capacity leadership role
  • Have a proven high degree of experience, knowledge and demonstrated results relative to: Screen Printer, Pick & Place, Reflow, and WAVE equipment
  • Candidate should possess a positive -can do- attitude, professional bearing and demeanor, and capacity to produce results in an operationally high tempo work environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of MRP/ERP (INFOR Visual application preferred or similar)
  • knowledge and demonstrated results relative to: Screen Printer, Pick & Place, Reflow, and WAVE equipment is desired
  • Very good leadership skills, coaching and training skills and abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Multilingual: English/Spanish (preferred)
