Senior Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client, a growing company in the Tempe, AZ area is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer. Summary: We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. The candidate will act as a team mentor to less experienced engineers as well as an expert department resource in reliability techniques and engineering problem solving processes. This individual has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems and understands the mechanisms involved in successfully executing solutions within the company system. Responsibilities:

  • Independently defines test requirements for complete hardware, fasteners and electromechanical systems, products or product families of large scope for products ranging from simple products to complex systems to satisfy customer requirements
  • Organizes design plan and technical strategy to assure successful execution
  • Helps to create preventative maintenance programs and schedules based on reliability modeling and test data results
  • Provides technical and reliability focused leadership for project teams
  • Project focused efforts to ensure that technical solutions are delivered to support overall project needs
  • Practices and teaches others in the use of stage gate development methods, engineering tools, and the understanding of all relevant industry standards
  • Reviews team test plans and test procedures ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Directs personnel in fabrication of test equipment, and develops methods and procedures for testing products or systems
  • Proactively investigates and solves problems that affect scrap, warranty/reliability and product cost for new and/or existing products


Skills

  • BS or BA in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer or related Engineering discipline and 6-10 years in a related field, or a MS in Reliability/Quality and 4-6 years in a related field
  • Solid working knowledge of testing requirements for fasteners, fixtures, hardware and electromechanical devices
  • Advanced understanding of accelerated life testing (ALT) methodology, including mechanical, cycle, and environmental stress induction, and how to apply to product test practices
  • Strong experience with stage-gate development processes, leading technical tasks such as safety assessments, FMEA, and regulatory compliance efforts including experience with CSA or UL certification efforts
  • Experience handling highly complex engineering issues and problems, and referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of engineering principles related to the position; Has continuously applied engineering principles in practice and teaches others in most of the topics related to the responsibility
  • Must possess leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring skills through proven experience; May possess supervisory experience
  • Experience with ReliaSoft or other similar software packages
  • Strong Oracle Agile or other similar PLM/PDM software package
  • LabVIEW data acquisition programming experience is a plus
  • Capable of testing the following types of parts with no assistance and accurately estimate part costs based on experience; Test methods; Shear, tension, environmental, life cycle and safe working load
