Senior Network Engineering Architect

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineering Architect in Nashville, TN. This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to an office environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the architecture, implementation, and scale of the production & corporate network; This includes core, distribution and edge switch configurations and architecture
  • Oversees the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment0
  • Responsible for evaluating current systems
  • Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies
  • Partner with the business to drive business value by architecting and building mission critical distributed systems that can stand the test of scale and availability, while limiting operational overhead
  • Develop and implement guidelines for the deployment and management of the network
  • Combine the tools, software, and hardware to create a scalable, resilient, and responsive network
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems
  • Ongoing support and configuration of all elements of the company's voice and data network, including routers, switches, telecommunication closets and cabling
  • Optimizes the performance and availability of network and end-user infrastructures through the application of best practices such as performance monitoring, capacity planning, and trend analysis and recommends improved methodologies
  • Responsible for the engineering, deployment and support of the voice and data network infrastructure

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field or equivalent work experience
  • 9-12+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering skills
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls is preferred
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Azure and/or AWS is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of WAN Protocols, particularly MPLS. SDWAN exposure/experience preferred
  • Requires thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications
  • Detailed knowledge and implementation skills of Cisco's Switching and Routing
  • An understanding of Enterprise Data Center Connectivity including Cloud and Security is preferred
  • Knowledge of various Security products
  • Detailed understanding of Voice Over IP; experience with Cisco and Avaya VOIP Products
  • Detailed knowledge of IP Routing, Quality of Service technologies with demonstrated implementation in a large enterprise organization
  • Skills with SolarWinds, PRTG and other network management solutions
  • Skills in developing network/security policies, procedures and documentation
