Senior Mechanical Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to an office environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design/prototype/test/launch: Design and detail parts and assemblies using SolidWorks from initial layout to the finished product; Create drawing packages to include detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs
  • Formalize and update drawing documentation
  • Mechanical Engineer position who has experience as a design engineer and/or project manager
  • In this position, you will work closely with an outside team of engineers to develop new products involving the design, prototype, project management and process development using SolidWorks from initial layout to finished product
  • Supplier identification and management
  • Process development: Workflow and assembly processes; BOM detailing, Create instructions
  • Capable of designing parts, assemblies, tools, etc. from sketches or verbal concepts
  • Conduct basic analytical tasks including fit analysis, tolerance stack-up, and stress-related calculations
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve for new and existing products by working directly with engineering and manufacturing
  • Interface with CSA to facilitate the approval and certification process
  • Operate testing equipment including dielectric meters, gas flow meters and combustion analyzer in relation to proving operating performance
  • Design testing fixtures and conduct required testing to prove operational performance and efficiency
  • Will be designing outdoor heaters and fireplaces


REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • 5-7+ years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficient mechanical design skills using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Need to have end to end Project Engineering experience
  • Experience in new product development of consumer products
  • Familiar with the ANSI Y14.5 Standard
  • Combustion/burner design experience either academically or in the workplace
