Senior Information Security Manager

Kforce is working with a growing financial technology firm located in New York, New York (NY). They are seeking a Senior Information Security Manager to join their growing team. Responsibilities:

  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems
  • Planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data
  • Responsible for preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect a network
  • Protects system against unauthorized access, modifications or destruction by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources
  • Completes tasks designed to ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets
  • Works with end users to determine needs of individual departments, implements policies or procedures, and tracks compliance through the organization
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; Anticipating requirements
  • Assist in developing and publishing information security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements such as NIST Framework, FFEIC, ISO 27001
  • Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls
  • Recommend methods for vulnerability detection and remediation, and oversee vulnerability testing
  • Coordinate response to information security incidents
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; Reviewing publications
  • Keep abreast of latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities pertain

  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum four years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with Internet technology and security issues
  • Experience in developing or administering an information security program desirable
  • Working knowledge of and experience in the policy and regulatory environment of information security especially in financial services is desirable
  • Excellent project management, written and oral communication skills desired
  • System Administration - Linux LDAP/Samba, Windows Active Directory, Patch Management (WSUS or similar), Endpoint Protection (Symantec, MalwareBytes or similar), Systems Monitoring (Nagios, Wireshark, Dell OpenManage), Mobile Device Management, Process Improvement (Varonis)
  • Network Security - Firewall Administration (OpenBSD v.5.x), Network Protocols, Routers, Hubs, and Switches, VPN (OpenVPN)
  • Information Security - Security Policies, Penetration Testing, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, Vulnerability Management (GFI LanGuard or similar)
