Senior Electrical Test Technician

Responsibilities

Kforce's client in Chandler, AZ, an established and growing nationwide company is seeking a couple of Senior Engineering Test Technicians. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager.Summary:The person in this position will be responsible for performing tests to qualify outdoor handheld electro-mechanical products, based on consumer and design/reliability requirements. These products include but are not limited to battery and electric consumer products. The types of tests may include includes component level, environmental chamber (hot/cold/humid), shaker table, drop, durability and application-based reliability (ABR) testing.Job duties are described below:

  • Works independently and with engineers and other technicians to plan and perform tests as defined by engineering and in associated test requests
  • Supports the preparation and delivery of technical plans and product testing requirements
  • Accurately reviews test data and provides the data in appropriate report format for engineering review
  • Confers with engineering personnel to clarify or resolve problems and determine appropriate next steps
  • Must be able to follow engineering test requests in evaluating products/components
  • This position may at times be asked to create testing fixtures and/or processes for evaluating product
  • Continually works to increase knowledge about our product and assembly specifications
  • Work with other technicians in sharing information and providing guidance on test equipment and processes
  • Independently builds up product for test samples, engineering samples, sales samples and customer samples


Skills

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of Electrical or Electronic Test Technician experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate test data and information with engineers and other technicians
  • Ability to perform any test required which includes environmental chamber (hot/cold/humid), shaker table, drop, mechanical cycling, durability, application-based reliability (ABR) testing, general electrical tests, sound/vibration/thermal tests, airflow/structural tests, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with data collection and processing
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts (Ohm's law, AC vs. DC, Wire ampacity, Electrical Safety, etc.)
  • Familiarity with measurement equipment (Digital multimeter, Power supplies, Shunts, Probes, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Basic soldering skills or certifications (Wire to wire, through hole PCB, etc.)
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware including Campbell Scientific dataloggers, National Instruments Compact DAQ a plus
  • Experience with Environmental Chambers and Shaker Tables a plus
  • Experience testing batteries is a plus
  • Programming experience with LabVIEW and PLC's a plus but not required
  • Basic machining skills or certifications (lathe/mill, saws, grinders, etc.) a plus
