Senior Electrical Engineer

Kforce has a client in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer in Danbury, CT.Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of state-of-the-art Motion and Motor Control systems for naval applications
  • Duties will include circuit design, requirements and interface definition, modelling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification
  • Design and analyze Closed Loop Control Systems
  • Resolve complex issues related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications, and design
  • Programming and troubleshooting of PLC based control systems, predominantly Allen-Bradley products


  • A typical candidate applying for the position should hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 10 to 15 years of experience in Hardware/Test development
  • Familiar with Power Supply Design and Distribution
  • Ability to Read/Write VHDL code
  • Proven design and troubleshooting skills in a product development environment
  • Familiarity with C/C++ in an embedded development environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications are needed skills for the position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional design teams.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering community
  • Technical, self-motivated leader who is action-oriented, with the ability to apply problem solving skills and sound judgment to complex issues
  • PLC capabilities a plus
  • Familiarity with military specifications and military design experience is desired
  • Ability and willingness for travel, including air travel; Estimate 5% domestic travel
