Senior Electrical Controls Engineers

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a growing Engineering Company in the Tucson, AZ area is looking for a couple of Senior Electrical Controls Engineers. We are seeking candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Tucson area once again the position is in Tucson, Arizona (AZ).Summary:We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. The position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position assumes a technical role towards the development of automated manufacturing systems for Automation. They will be responsible for the electrical engineering and software design of control systems on automation equipment specific to customer and project requirements.Specific Duties Include:

  • Designs and develops control systems and software programs specific to customer and project requirements based on standard programming methods when applicable
  • Performs engineering calculations with respect to power consumption, current capacity, shielding, signal integrity, risk assessment, etc., as related to automation machinery designs
  • Formulates and produces a complete electrical design package which includes detailed schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisition forms, based on the company's Automation standard specifications and the customer's requirements
  • Selects and integrates hardware and software components such as robots, grippers, load cells, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers
  • Debugs and commissions software programs at the company during systems integration phase and then at the Customer's site during installation
  • Travels as required to Customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training tasks


Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, specializing in controls systems design or software engineering; BSEE degree preferred
  • 5-10+ years of experience in electrical design for automation systems
  • Experience developing system electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Panel design, etc.
  • Experience designing automation for industries such as Life Science, Aerospace and/or consumer products industries is desired
  • Successful experience troubleshooting equipment during all project phases
  • Demonstrable success functioning as a controls design engineer on multiple automation projects
  • Advanced understanding of robotics, control systems, vision systems and machine operation
  • Advanced understanding with multiple of the following programming environments; PLC ladder logic, robotic controllers, vision systems, HMI design tools, C#, MS Visual Studio, and .NET
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Ability to cross international borders (passport required)
