Responsibilities

Kforce has a client seeking a Regulatory Specialist in Oakland, CA.Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance on the collection of regulatory requirements
  • Translating complex regulatory requirements to reporting rules that fit with how our company operates and stores data
  • Creating and leading the creation of data reports to meets regulatory obligations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Analytic consulting, data collection, data preparation, data analysis, reporting & visualization
  • Oversee the running of routine production and maintenance of report programs (e.g. Hospital Cost Reports, OSPHD Financial Disclosure)
  • Consultation on major changes (e.g. HEDIS DataMart, Future of HEDIS - self certification)
  • Program maintenance
  • Reporting and data preparation (e.g Utilization, Cost)
  • Audit controls and attestation of regulatory reports (e.g. Cost/Finance portfolio)
  • Apply expert knowledge of relational database principles, theories, and concepts; This includes the ability to frequently and independently apply this knowledge to work situations


Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related field; Or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field; Master's degree preferred
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience related analytical consulting, project management or programming in SAS required
  • Ability to apply business understanding to projects, programs, initiatives, and operations and ensure teams understand work unit operations and alignment with the business
  • Ability to articulate implications of business trends for the broader organization
  • Experience with analytical manipulation and interpretation of large databases
  • Experience with MVS/TSO operating systems required
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Proficiency in SAS
  • Exceptional analytic and critical thinking skills, consulting skills, and ability to work within a team
  • Ability to express complex analytical and technical information to senior management, Pricing Directors, and audiences without technical training
  • Must be an independent self-starter
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
  • Expert knowledge of health care industry practices and standards; This includes the ability to apply this knowledge to general work situations
