Platform Support Engineer

Kforce has a client in search of a Platform Support Engineer in New York, NY. This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to office environment when COVID-19 ramps down. Summary: This role is ideal for a candidate who has a keen interest in working with large data sets to develop a BI platform (reports, visualization, data feeds), in this case for Media & Advertising landscape. The outputs and data sets are used for campaign planning & post-campaign reporting, which include campaign data, audience data and impression data across multiple data sources. Core Responsibilities:

  • Design & Develop ETL code
  • Develop scripts or workflows to facilitate complex ingress processes (currently using Python)
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Document implemented ETL designs
  • Develop automated test scripts
  • Participate in Daily Scrum calls as well as spring planning sessions to support development efforts
  • Effectively use Jira to estimate & track user stories and tasks
  • Proactively review, streamline and suggest improvements to our current processes and documentation
  • Establish a good working rapport with Dev Lead, System Engineers, Quality Assurance/Testers

  • Requires 3-5 years (Software Engineer II) of experience as an ETL developer
  • Good understanding of Databases and Datawarehouse tools
  • Experienced in Python development
  • Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization & stored procedures
  • Prior experience working with Cloud based data warehouses
  • Some experience working in AWS environments (currently using S3 and EC2)
  • Some experience using Git or Source Code Control System in a multi-developer setting
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Requires minimum supervision
  • Communicates & collaborates effectively with the team
Nice to have:
  • Some knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines (preferably Jenkins)
  • Some knowledge of QA test automation
  • Some experience Unix Shell/Bash scripting
  • Some experience working with Workflow tools (such as Apache AirFlow)
  • Familiar with Data visualization/Business Intelligence tools
