Payroll Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is assisting a client in the Tampa, FL area who is seeking a Payroll Coordinator. Summary: The Payroll Coordinator who will be responsible for reviewing payroll, ensuring accuracy and performing the necessary balancing of payroll data each pay period for multiple locations while ensuring all statutory tax obligations and compliance requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethic and professional attitude, emphasizing reliability, integrity, teamwork and willingness to work as necessary to get the job done. Responsibilities:

  • Verify time entry for all employees from Time and Attendance system, review reports for exceptions
  • Make sure that company policies, union contracts, and FLSA or state laws are followed in respect to overtime
  • Enter any exception data not captured by T & A system
  • Ensure employee status changes have been submitted
  • Quality check processed payroll reports for accuracy
  • Identify and issue manual check and process void checks when necessary
  • For all garnishments set up deductions, maintain active and inactive files, set up employer administrative fees, work with WGPS and keep in compliance with court orders
  • Review LOA and termination report regarding garnishments for compliance and send out required notification letter
  • Monitor lien goal limits and review monthly summary garnishment summary to ensure all funds are withheld and disbursed accurately
  • Ensure all employee records are recorded in HR system, image and index into the virtual employee file (AppXtender)


REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or GED / equivalent
  • 3+ Years Multistate payroll experience for a large organization
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll Best Practices
  • Solid working knowledge of State and Federal Payroll Tax Regulations
  • Ultimate Software (UltiPro) experience, a plus
  • Intermediate level knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Formulas , Data Analysis)
  • Ability to change priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical thinking skills
