Payment Poster

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in search of a Payment Poster in Creve Coeur, MO. Summary: The Payment Poster posts payments and denials from insurance carriers' explanation of benefits to the practice management system while adhering to a department standard. They will be required to identify and write up refunds while posting payments, and scan batches into the practice management system. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and posts all payments to the system which includes manual posting along with electronic remittance advice downloading
  • Prepares and posts denials to the system which may be a manual post or an electronic download
  • Identify a negative balance may be created when posting and take the necessary steps within reason to resolve prior to completion of the posting batch
  • Upon receipt of incorrect payment amount, decides whether to accept payment or to recommend for appeal
  • Identify own posting errors and correct with minimal assistance
  • Monitors assigned tasks to ensure they are worked timely and accurately
  • Effectively communicate with department personnel, physician's office personnel and outside vendors
  • Identifies and prepares appropriate refunds when posting payments that create a credit balance
  • Serves as a backup to the front-desk receptionist; Answers business office telephone calls in a professional manner; Transfers to appropriate personnel and/or takes accurate messages; Greets business office visitors in a friendly and professional manner


REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • 2-3 years of payment posting experience
  • Knowledge of various medical insurance carriers
  • Experience billing for physicians' offices
  • NextGen experience is a plus
