Paralegal - Remote

Kforce has a client in search of a Paralegal in Boston, MA. This role is currently 100% remote and may switch back to office environment when COVID-19 ramps down. Summary: The Employment Paralegal is an important member of this company's Legal Department that will support the company's employment attorneys in a variety of matters. Key Tasks:

  • Perform legal research
  • Manage and respond to records subpoenas for employee records in accordance with applicable law
  • Monitor federal, state and local employment laws that impact organizational policy
  • Serve as internal point of contact for I-9 questions
  • Serve as internal point of contact for employment claims insurance provider
  • Assist the company's policies governing committee with management, drafting and revising of company policies
  • Independently manage independent contractor legal review and contracting process
  • Provide formal and informal training to stakeholders across the organization regarding proper classification of non-employee service providers
  • Assist with legal review and implementation of reorganizations and reductions-in-force
  • Assist with managing the company's internal investigations program and conduct internal investigations in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain employment-related contract forms and update as needed
  • Assist HR with reviewing background check results
  • Draft employment-related agreements and letters such as special offer letters, separation agreements, independent contractor agreements, leave letters and demands for return of company equipment
  • Create and maintain employment-related processes and playbooks, update as needed
  • Key point of contact for document production and management as needed for litigations
  • Other duties as required

  • College degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent self-starter, creative thinker, quick learner
  • Strong detail orientation and focus on accuracy
  • Ability to independently and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels across the organization
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Paralegal certificate
