Electrical Engineer (Analog Medical Device)

Kforce has a client seeking an Electrical Engineer (Analog Medical Device) in Carlsbad, CA. This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to an office environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. The Electrical Engineer (Analog Medical Device) is responsible for the design and development of custom medical device equipment, including component level design of PC boards and other electromedical device assemblies. The Electrical Engineer (Analog Medical Device) will work on multidisciplinary project teams during initial feasibility, design and development, design transfer and continued post release maintenance. The Electrical Engineer ensures product adherence to electrical performance, safety, and EMC standards as well as creation and release of all design control documentation. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs laboratory measurements, analyzes data and generates conclusions about system performance to specifications and requirements
  • Solicits, analyzes, and documents engineering requirements
  • Maintains and update the requirements and design documentation throughout the entire system life cycle
  • Performs requirements traceability to ensure proper allocation of system requirements to subsystems
  • Creates and performs test cases, protocols and reports for unit integration, and system testing
  • Works cohesively in small teams with experts of different fields (electrical engineers, scientist, clinical experts, etc.)
  • Will regularly collaborate with senior team members
  • Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Interprets data and draws conclusions regarding results used in presented material

  • Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related hands-on experience and Bachelor's degree in a scientific/engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working familiarity with state of the art electronics design tools such as schematic capture (Orcad, Eagle), simulation (Spice, Comsol) as well as system / software tools (MatLab, Labview)
  • Related work or lab experience while in school
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability and creativity at a fundamental level
