Data Security Consultant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Round Rock, TX that is immediately seeking a Data Security Consultant to join their Security & Resiliency team remotely in the US.Summary:This individual will help with modernizing the client's Data Protection program and will serve as a primary data protection and privacy contact for the Cybersecurity Organization. As a data protection subject matter expert, this role acts as the primary point of contact with senior management, information security management and business unit stakeholders for cybersecurity-specific Data Protection strategy, roadmap and program-related items and will advise stakeholders with general guidance and on compliance initiatives.Key Tasks:

• Engages with business partners, customers and other external stakeholders, inspiring confidence in their overall security posture and brand, through industry and customer presentations
• Builds and operationalizes cybersecurity-specific Data Protection strategy, roadmap and program related items with leaders across the organization
• Develops data security, privacy and confidentiality standards in relation to regulatory levels
• Collaborates with GRC team on the implementation and maturation of security controls against an industry recognized security framework and standards such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, and ISO 2700x
• Assesses, documents and updates leadership on current data security risks as it pertains to enterprise sensitive data
• Orchestrates the provisioning of central cybersecurity and resiliency services to support business partners and segments; Creates and presents business case proposals for investment as needed
• Supports IT and Cybersecurity groups efforts to monitor user authentication and access behavior to detect unusual or at-risk behaviors

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; Or equivalent professional experience in a similar role
• CISSP and/or CIPT certified
• 10+ years of enterprise experience in Information Assurance, Data Protection, Data Security fields
• Practical understanding and experience building/designing/operating data protection technologies related to: Data Classification, Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Access Security Broker, Data Access Governance, Encryption/Tokenization, Rights Management, Certificate Management, Database Security
• Understanding of industry trends in Data Protection security
• Experience with multi-cloud data protection strategy
• Strong knowledge of Control Standards and Procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage stress in a constantly changing environment
• Highly focused on supporting a strong cohesive team and security culture
• Excellent judgment and the ability to make quick decisions when working with complex situations
• Strong business acumen and forward-thinking
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness; Representing the company and its management team with the highest level of professionalism

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• IAPP CIPT, CIPP/E/US, Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP)
• Experience with next-generation data products to include differential privacy, homomorphic encryption, multi-party compute, and microshard technology
